Ingredients
- 12 oz spaghetti
- 1 lb ground beef or turkey
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 24 oz marinara sauce

- 2 cups ricotta cheese
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook Spaghetti: In a large pot, cook the spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare Meat Sauce:
- In a skillet, sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic over medium heat until translucent.
- Add the ground beef or turkey, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in the marinara sauce and Italian herbs. Let simmer for 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper.
- Assemble Casserole:
- In a large mixing bowl, combine cooked spaghetti, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
- Spread half of the meat sauce in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Layer half of the spaghetti mixture, then the remaining meat sauce, followed by the rest of the spaghetti mixture.
- Top with the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, or until cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve: Let the casserole sit for 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil, if desired.
