You can’t go wrong with shrimp dishes. Some of my favorites are bacon-wrapped shrimp, shrimp linguine, shrimp étouffée, and this deliciously simple cilantro lime shrimp.
Ingredients
To make this reicpe, you will need shrimp, lime juice, cilantro, butter, garlic, cumin, salt and black pepper.
How Do You Make Cilantro Lime Shrimp ?
Melt butter in a large skillet and season the shrimp with salt and pepper. Add the shrimp to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until they turn pink and opaque. Stir in the cumin and garlic, cooking for an additional minute. Finally, mix in the lime juice and cilantro, tossing gently to combine. Serve the shrimp right away, garnished with lime wedges and cilantro sprigs for an elegant touch.
Tips For The Perfect Dish
I recommend using extra-large shrimp for this dish. If you choose smaller shrimp, just cook them for a minute less; look for 16-20 count or 21-25 count. Both fresh and frozen shrimp work well—if using frozen, be sure to thaw and pat them dry with a paper towel for proper searing.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days. You can remove the tails for easier eating or leave them on for a more elegant presentation. Pair your cilantro lime shrimp with Mexican-inspired sides like black beans and rice, black bean and corn salad, or Mexican corn salad. You can also use corn or flour tortillas to make cilantro lime shrimp tacos.
